Dozens of board members, campaign volunteers and YMCA staff gathered for lunch at the new GHS Family YMCA to kick off the 2011 Open Doors community support campaign. Camp Greenville was well represented by several members of the board of advisors including Open Doors campaign chair, Jennifer Harrill. (Pictured here reporting the progress to date for camp's portion of the campaign.)
The Open Doors campaign officially began at noon today and runs until noon on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. All funds raised go directly to help those who could not otherwise afford YMCA programs the opportunity to participate. Camp Greenville has a goal to raise $109,500 which will help families with both summer camp fees and fees for fall and spring programs. At the time of reporting we had nearly $48,000 generously pledged to this years campaign.
As a camp alum, contributing to the Open Doors campaign is one way to stay connected to camp through the years. It is a rewarding way to share the impact of camp with others. Online giving is now even easier at the YMCA Open Doors website.
